A bit about our philosophy

At Prodigy, our pathway is designed to prepare players for the professional tour. However, not everyone can reach this level. Therefore, we also aim to support players who may decide to further their careers in US, UK or Irish universities.

Teaching school

We are a Tennis school. In this regard, our main objective is to teach the fundamentals of the sport, not to provide sparring opportunities. We treat all our athletes equally. When athletes graduate from our Tennis School, they will have sound fundamentals that will enable them to progress through their careers.
— Prodigy Philosophy

Semi Individualised approach to player development

In line with our objective to teach the fundamentals, we work with a low player to coach ratio. Our philosophy is that each player is an individual project.
— PRODIGY PHILOSOPHY

Coherence

Player development is a shared project between Prodigy, parents, private, club or provincial coaches. We believe that effective communication is critical to our athletes achieving their goals. We have a communication strategy in place to help co-ordinate these key stakeholders.
— Prodigy Team

Benchmarks

We have a long term approach to player development. Furthermore, we believe that evidence based benchmarks should be in place at each stage of development. We have designed a 4 tier developmental approach that will graduate players from Prodigy Tennis School at 14 years.

What happens when you graduate at 14?

We believe that aspiring pro players over 14 years should work within an individualised program. Prodigy will consult on program design for players who have the ambition to play professional tennis. These programs will be a shared approach between Prodigy and our International partners.”
