Garry Cahill

Role: Founder of Prodigy tennis

Garry has previously worked as the high performance director at Tennis Ireland. During this time Tennis Ireland had its greatest success to date having senior and junior players playing regularly in grand slams. Garry was responsible for setting up the national training centre in D.C.U which became recognised by the ITF as a centre of excellence. Garry successfully captained the Irish Davis team at a time when Ireland had three players in the top 200ATP. He successfully promoted the Federation Cup team and has (and currently is) coaching tour level players, including developing one player to 70 in the world pro rankings. Garry is a regular guest speaker in national, European and world coaches conferences. He is a regular contributor to sports science journals, level 4 coach, coach developer, MBS in business practice (University Limerick), Hdip leadership, Hdip Business Org, Hdip exec coach and currently undergoing doctorate studies in talent development at Dublin City University.

Johnny McCormack

Role: Head u-13/14 team.

Johnny is a former head national coach at the National Tennis Academy from 2006 till 2020, working with some of Ireland's top Junior and Senior Players. Johnny has travelled as National Coach for Winter Cup and European Championships from ul2 to ul8 Teams. Also, he has travelled with national teams to Tennis Europe, ITF & Ten Pro events over the last 20 years. Johnny was Davis cup assistant in a memorable victory for Ireland over Egypt in which he played a pivotal role in the success. He is a Level 4 - Tennis Ireland / ITF / Qualified Coach Developer (SportIreland). Johnny is recognised as one of the leading developmental coaches in Ireland.

Kevin O Brien

Lead physical trainer

Kevin graduated from Sport Science and Health in D.C.U (2005) and has worked with Tennis Ireland for a 6 year period as head strength and conditioning coach. Alongside his work in tennis, he also worked with Olympic athletes and national basketball champions. Athletic development is the key training principle he focuses on. Kevin's main areas of coaching are youth athletic development, specific movement patterns for tennis, and improving the players ability to withstand injury. He has experience teaching motor skill modules at university level and has delivered physical training aspects of the level one two and 3 tennis coaching courses. Kevin is finishing up his PhD in the area of teenagers, fitness and vascular health. Kevin started as head of strength and condition with Prodigy Tennis in 2022

Darragh Rowan

Lead u-12 coach

Darragh is a Tennis Ireland Level 4 Licenced Coach, having completed his level four coaching certification in 2013. Previously, he worked as part of Tennis Ireland's National Training Academy where his responsibilities included training and travelling with both junior and professional players. Darragh is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Chartered Physiotherapist, and has also held the position of Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach to Tennis Ireland National Training Academy. As a player, Darragh enjoyed success as a Junior winning several national junior titles and was awarded a scholarship to North Carolina State University. Darragh brings the unique experience of having both the qualifications and practical experience in physical, biomechanical and tennis specific elements of the sport.

Odhran O’Sullivan Hamill

Role: Head of U-10 / U-11 training

Odhran has over 10 years of coaching experience and has worked with Prodigy tennis since 2020. He is head coach of Bray tennis club and currently undertaking his ITF level 3 qualification. He also recently completed his certificate in ITF Coaching Advanced Players Course - The serve. Odhran was the number 1 ranked junior in Ireland for two years. He trained at Nick Bollettieri’s tennis academy in Florida from 2010 to 2011 and competed at top international tournaments such as the Eddie Herr International Juniors Championships. In 2013 he earned a scholarship to play college tennis in Tennessee. He has represented Ireland at junior and collegiate level and still competes regularly holding a national ranking inside the top 15 having been as high as number 4. He has been selected on the Leinster senior interprovincial team on 3 occasions, the most recent being in 2022.

Sinead Keogh

Role: Red ball program

Sinead is a Level 2 Tennis Ireland coach & currently undergoing her Level 3. She started playing tennis at the age of 5 & played competitively as a junior. While obtaining her masters degree, she captained the DCU ladies first team. Sinead is still playing at competitive league level in Ireland. Sinead is specialising in the training of U-8 players during the first stages of entry into the performance pathway. Sinead has been coaching for over 5 years. She currently coaches in Co. Wicklow Lawn Tennis Club where she is the head coach of the under 12 and 14’s performance program. She has coached the schools program in Prodigy for the past year.

Mike Johnston 

Role: Coach u-11/u-12 program

Mike has been actively involved in tennis since his childhood, competing in national tournaments and events. Mike became a qualified Tennis Ireland coach in 2022 and immediately commenced working with Prodigy. Mike’s playing experience includes representing his province Leinster in junior/senior intraprovincial events. Representing Ireland in a 2023 international fixture in Morocco. Captaining his club class 1 team to league titles in winter and summer leagues. Representing his club in international fixtures against prestigious clubs such as Wimbledon and Queens club, and college teams such as Harvard and Yale. Mike is currently working as a coach with the U-10, U-11 sections of the Prodigy program 

Marc Homan

Role:Red ball program

Marc was a top ranked national junior player and trained with the National Irish squad from 8 - 14 years old, playing the Irish tournament system and travelling throughout Europe competing at Tennis Europe level. Marc has trained in various academies in Europe, as well as competing in many prestigious international events. Marc started coaching three years ago as an assistant within the Prodigy program and has gone on to recently complete his Tennis Irleand coaching qualification. Mentored by Garry Cahill, Marc is becoming recognised as one of the bright upcoming coaching in Ireland. Within Prodigy, Marc is responsible for assisting at various levels and will now commence with the newly formed red ball program. 

Hrvoje Zmajic

Consultant u-10 development

Hrvoje is a former national coach in Croatia and director of development for Tennis Europe. Hrvoje is a specialist in the technical development of youth tennis players. He is currently a consultant to many international federations on player development. Hrvoje is a consultant to Prodigy on the development of the 10 and under pathway for our red, orange and green ball development.
